Frequently asked questions

Do I really need spigot rings?

If your wheel’s centre bore is bigger than your hub, yes. They are recommended for any aftermarket or swapped wheel. They make fitting easier and stop vibration caused by wheels sitting off-centre.

Do spigot rings carry the weight of the car?

No. The load is carried by the clamping force of correctly torqued wheel bolts or nuts. The ring centres the wheel while it is fitted and keeps it centred.

Polycarbonate or aluminium, which should I choose?

Polycarbonate suits most road cars. It is light, won’t corrode and won’t seize to the hub. Choose aluminium for wheel spacers, heavy wheels or track use, or if you simply prefer metal.

How many rings come in a set?

Our standard pack is a set of 4, one per wheel. Some sizes can also be bought singly or in larger packs; the options appear on each product page.

What do OD and ID mean?

OD (outer diameter) is the wheel’s centre bore. ID (inner diameter) is the car’s hub size. A 73.1 → 57.1 ring fits a 73.1 mm wheel bore onto a 57.1 mm hub.

My size isn’t listed. Can you help?

Yes. Send us the wheel bore and the hub size measured to 0.1 mm. If we don’t stock that combination, we can machine custom aluminium rings.

What are the rings with a spring clip for?

Some wheels, BBS for example, use aluminium rings held in the wheel bore by a spring retaining clip. We sell those rings as complete sets, and the clips separately.

Will the rings fit with wheel spacers?

Hub centric spacers have their own spigot. You may need one ring between hub and spacer, or between spacer and wheel, depending on the sizes. Measure each interface.

Where else can I buy your rings?

From our other stores: ej-parts.co.uk (UK), webauto.lt (EU), vehicleclips.eu (EU) and eBay UK (seller ej-parts). Every product page links to the same ring in each store.

Can I return rings if I ordered the wrong size?

Yes, unused rings in their original packaging can be returned. See Delivery & returns for details.
